ASGAR - A Stupid Game About Running
ASGAR
The nameless one started running... and never reach their goal with all his body parts... The ancient one has them and they want to keep them!
Introduction
ASGAR is a little funny experiment with the soul of a rage game.
You control a nameless character made of paper (?), or better you control four limbs of the character. The character advances automatically along an infinite corridor full of deadly obstacles to avoid. The obstacles can come from the sides, the top and the horizon. They must be avoided either by sidestepping, crouching/bending or jumping. When you get hit you lose a limb, starting from a leg, then the other and so on.
When you lose both legs you can still walk... on your hands.
When you lose all four limbs... it's game over!
Instructions
F and J for the left and right lower limb.
D and K for the left and right upper limb.
Pressing one key and releasing it makes the player move in the direction of the corresponding limb. Some limbs are more effective than others according to the stance the player is in.
Pressing both upper or lower limbs makes the character enter a specific pose. In normal upright stance:
- Both legs (F + J) : crouch
- Releasing both legs at the same time: jump
- Both arms (D + K): bend the torso at the hips
In hand-stand stance:
- Both arms (D + K): crouch on hands
- Releasing both arms at the same time: hand jump
- Both legs (F + J): bend the legs (or what's left of them...) at the hips
Alternating arm and leg makes the player side-step faster.
Using arms when the character is air-borne allows some freedom of movement...
